Annual training for Title IX Coordinators is imperative to ensure your institution is meeting legal mandates and industry standards. ICS’ 2021 Refresher and Update Training provides attendees with the following critical information to assist them in their role:

  1. Refresher: This portion of the training will be a refresher of mandated materials under the new Title IX regulations released in 2020. It will include the definition of sexual harassment, when it falls within an institution’s program or activity, the formal Title IX grievance process, identifying and avoiding conflicts of interest and bias, and training of a school’s Title IX team. As always, updated Compliance Aids that correspond to these concepts are included. The refresher will also review the role of a Title IX Coordinator in coordinating compliance efforts as informed by OCR guidance and industry standard.
  2. Update: The Title IX landscape continues to evolve due to case law developments and changes in Office for Civil Rights guidance anticipated under President Biden. This portion of the training will provide attendees with comprehensive, up-to-date, information inclusive of any and all changes that have developed to date. This discussion will include addressing non-Title IX sexual misconduct as well as sex- and gender-based harassment.
  3. Planning and Implementation: ICS strives to provide practical information to assist Coordinators in their complex role. Presenters will discuss best practices, next steps and planning ideas for Coordinators to implement as they look forward at the next academic year. Implementation strategies include tracking patterns and trends, managing the Title IX team, smooth transitions and referrals, policy review and updates, and training and prevention efforts.

A signature of ICS training is the incorporation of hypotheticals to put concepts into practice. All trainings are interactive live trainings with personalized instruction. Attendees receive an inspection link and Certificate upon completion of training.
