The new Title IX regulations include domestic violence and dating violence in the definition of Title IX Sexual Harassment and the Clery Act carries obligations for institutions with regard to these matters as well. Investigating and Resolving issues of domestic violence and dating violence is complicated and requires campus wide collaboration. These relationships have the potential for significant risk to your campus and community, as well as the parties involved. This training will guide you through 1) instituting supportive measures that seek to protect the individuals involved and the campus as a whole, 2) questioning individuals in domestic or dating violence relationships, 3) investigating when a witness or party is not willing to participate, 4) sanctioning from both restorative and disciplinary lenses.Attendees will receive training that complies with the 2020 Title IX regulations, addresses best practices based on current litigation trends and OCR guidance, and if applicable, covers the latest on any new Title IX regulations released in 2023.
