This training provides a comprehensive foundation in civil rights compliance for both K-12 and higher education institutions. With an emphasis on Title VI, participants will also explore intersections with other key federal laws, including Title VII and Section 504/ADA. The training emphasizes practical application — from understanding coordinator responsibilities to conducting investigations and implementing equitable institutional practices.
Participants will leave equipped with tools to:
- Understand the scope of civil rights laws and how they apply across campus and district settings
- Recognize the coordinator’s role in ensuring compliance and equity
- Navigate investigations, informal resolutions, and proactive prevention measures
- Integrate civil rights compliance into broader institutional policies and culture
Registrants must be present for at least 80% of the duration of the training to receive a certificate of completion.
