On June 23, 2022, on the 50th Anniversary of Title IX, the Department of Education issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for new Title IX regulations. These proposed regulations were subject to a public comment period through September 12, 2022 and were released in finalized form on April 19, 2024.
